General Information on UCD
UCD Campus Map

Student Desk
The UCD Student desk is the first point of contact for many students in relation to queries on fees, enrolment, transcripts etc. The Student desk is located in the Tierney Building (map ref 17). The student Desk can be contacted at +353 1 716 1555 or studentdesk@ucd.ie
Bank Service
Allied Irish Bank (AIB) is located on the UCD Belfield campus (map ref 4). It is open Monday–Friday 10:00–16:00 and Thursday 10:00– 17:00. Bank of Ireland is located across the road from the main (N11) entrance to the campus. Opening hours are Monday-Tuesday-Friday 10:00–16:00, Wednesday 10:30–16:00 and Thursday 10:00–17:00. ATM's are located at the Library Building, the Main Restaurant, AIB bank, and the Student Centre at the Belfield campus.
Library
All registered UCD students are entitled to use and borrow books from the libraries. UCD has five main libraries: James Joyce Library, Richview Library, Blackrock, Health Sciences Library, and Veterinary Library. Opening hours vary depending on the library. The James Joyce Library (map ref 29) is open Monday to Friday 08:30-23:00, Saturday 09:00–17:30, closed Sunday. During exam periods, the library is also open for study purposes on Sundays.
Restaurant Facilities
There are several restaurants, cafés and small shops on the campus. The location of these facilities can be found on the campus map. Most are open from 08:30–21:00 approx. The nearest restaurant to the Computer Science Building is located in the Conway building (map ref. 15) and the Main Restaurant is across campus (map ref. 46).
Shops
The closest shop to the School of Computer Science is the Student Centre shop, located in the Science Hub Building (map ref 67). Shops can also be found in the Library building and in the Merville Residences.
Fitness
If you wish to use the on-campus gym, climbing wall, pitches, pool or other sporting facilities, information is available at: www.ucd.ie/sport/facilities
There is also a running route that circles the campus (approx 5km) and there are also a number of woodland walks at UCD. Information can be found at: www.ucd.ie/campusdevelopment/woodlandwalks
How to Get On the UCD Wireless Network
Wireless web access is available throughout UCD.
To connect simply select the “WaveLan” wireless network from the list of available networks on your computer or mobile device. No authentication is required.
Your browser should be configured to auto-detect proxy server (Most browsers are confgured this way by default). Alternatively you can configure your browser proxy settings manually with the following details:
Proxy server: proxy.ucd.ie
Port: 8484
Emergency Contacts
Should you experience an emergency while on campus, please contact the UCD Campus Emergency line on 01 716 7999. This will connect you to the 24 hour campus First Response Service, which will contact the relevant emergency service and ensure that they are speedily escorted to the incident site.
Should you experience an emergency outside of UCD, the general emergency number in Ireland is 999.
