Transport & Accomodation

Transport to and from the Airport

The University is approx. 20 km from the airport and there is a choice of transport available:

TAXI: Costs €25 – €35 and takes about 45 minutes.

BUS: Take the AIRCOACH service (www.aircoach.ie) from outside the airport terminal building and ask for the UCD/MONTROSE HOTEL stop - coaches leave every 15 minutes. Check with the driver before you board the coach that it is the correct route. You can purchase your ticket on the coach and it costs €15 return. To return to the airport you can take the coach from the stop at the main entrance to UCD (N11/Stillorgan Road).

Hotel Accommodation

As UCD is located 6 km from Dublin city centre, you may choose to stay in the city, or closer to campus in the Donnybrook area. For a full listing of hotels and guesthouses, please visit the website of the Dublin tourist board at www.visitdublin.com. When booking accommodation, please note that the campus is served by several bus routes through the city including the 46a, 145 and 11 (the city centre is approximately 45 minutes from the University by bus).

One of the most popular local options for visitors to UCD is the 4 Star Stillorgan Park Hotel, where accommodation is available for €87 per night including breakfast. You can also arrange to take the free shuttle bus to UCD by booking at reception. Information on the hotel is available at www.stillorganpark.com

Alternatively the 5 Star Radisson SAS St. Helens is a ten minute walk from UCD. Accommodation is available at €119 per night including breakfast. Information on the hotel is available at www.sthelens.dublin.radissonsas.com.

During the summer months it is also possible to stay on campus. The UCD campus accommodation can be booked directly by contacting Suzanne Shorten on +353-1-716 1333 (www.summeratucd.ie).
