Minister for Justice,Equality and Law Reform Dermot Ahern TD, visits UCD Centre for Cybercrime Investigation (CCI)

The Minister will be briefed on the latest cutting edge work of the Centre in tackling cybercrime.

Feb. 15th 2010

The Minister came to the UCD Centre for Cybercrime Investigation (CCI) to get a first hand appreciation of the work of the Centre which was formally established in 2006, following a decade of cybercrime research, education and collaboration with Law Enforcement (LE) agencies. The UCD Cybercrime Centre is one of only two in Europe.  The Centre works closely with the Computer Crime Unit of An Garda Síochána, other police forces in Europe, and with the private sector. It also provides training and research for banks, credit card companies and financial houses. The UCD Centre is the only one in Europe offering a masters level qualification. Leading cybercrime officers at Interpol and Europol hold these qualifications from UCD.
