Brief Biography

Dr. Fergus Toolan is a researcher in the Centre for Cybercrime Investigation in University College Dublin. Prior to this appointment he was the Course Director for Undergraduate Programs in the Faculty of Computing Science in Griffith College Dublin.

Fergus received a PhD in 2007 from University College Dublin. His research focused on the effect of various diversity metrics in constructing highly accurate classifier ensembles. This work was carried out under the supervision of Dr Joe Carthy. Fergus completed an M.Sc in Computing in University College Dublin in 2003 under the direction of Nick Kushmerick. This work focused on the use of Web Mining techniques in order to automatically generate site maps. Fergus obtain his B.Sc (Hons) in 2000.
