Brief Biography

Joshua I. James is a lecturer and Ph.D. researcher with the University College Dublin Centre for Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Investigation, and a seconded researcher with the An Garda Síochána eCrimes Unit. Coming from a background in network security and administration, his focus is now on the formalization and automation of digital forensic investigation methods, and the application of these methods in low cost, open source solutions for digital investigators.

Research Interest

Development of tools used to automate digital investigation tasks
Currently involved in the research, development and validation of preliminary analysis processes to streamline digital forensic investigation process flows.
Currently in part-time development of a suspect profile mining and analysis system for intelligence purposes.
Digital forensic investigation training and education development.
