2CENTRE
UCD CCI are project managers and lead coordinators of this €4million project. The objective of 2CENTRE will be to establish a network of Cybercrime Centres of Excellence for Training, Research & Education around Europe. Project contributors will include partners from industry, academia and law enforcement, working together to propose and develop solutions designed to address the issue of cyber criminality. Using CCI as the model, the project will explore options for a sustainable network framework and structure. In addition, a range of ‘excellence’ activities will be undertaken. Over 25 separate activities will be completed, including the development of forensic tools, the creation of a range of cybercrime training programmes and practical research into issues affecting Europe’s citizens, such as online financial crime, telecoms fraud and cybersecurity of critical national infrastructure.
FREETOOL - Free, Reliable Tools for Investigating Cybercrime
The goal of the FREETOOL project is to build and support a dynamic community of open source forensic tool developers and end users, who will work together on the creation of reliable cybercrime investigation tools for the wider LE community. The output from the community will be freely available to LE globally, where access to a common set of investigative tools will facilitate the global fight against cybercrime.
