Programme and Research Assistant

As a PhD candidate and a NOHA Programme Assistant at the UCD CHA, my time is split between a diverse range of projects. As well as supporting the delivery of the Joint Master in Humanitarian Action, I manage the daily operations and needs of the Centre including communication and all online/media content.

Prior to joining UCD, I worked as an Assistant Desk Officer-NOHA Intern (Operations) in operational Unit B5 of the Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (DG-ECHO), European Commission. I also worked as the Research Intern at the Centre for Humanitarian Action. I also worked as the Project Officer for an Irish Aid funded Programme in Malawi.

I have a first class honours Master of Science degree in Humanitarian Action (2015) from University College Dublin; Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Extension (2012) from the University of Malawi and a Diploma in Agriculture and Natural Resources Management (2006) from Natural Resources College of Malawi. My research interests include social capital, resilience measurement, urban vulnerability, urban poverty, and sustainable livelihoods.I am a recipient of Irish Aid, Department of Foreign Affairs Fellowship.

I am currently carrying out a research on Social Capital and Resilience.
