In January 2014, Professor Martin Steinhoff was appointed as Director of UCD Charles Institute of Dermatology in University College Dublin and Professorial Chair of Dermatology in UCD School of Medicine & Medical Science. His vision to establish the UCD Charles Institute and clinic as a centre of excellence for translational dermatology research is enabled by an expert interdisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians focused on dermatology research.
UCD Charles Institute is one of the few centres worldwide that can integrate scientific research with patient trials and medical education in dermatology, and Director, Professor Martin Steinhoff has a vision to make it grow. Read more>>

The City of Dublin Skin and Cancer Hospital Charity in partnership with University College Dublin founded the UCD Charles Institute of Dermatology on the Belfield campus of University College Dublin. The foundation stone for the first institute in Ireland dedicated to dermatology research and training was laid on 13th June 2008.
