Careful Nursing Summer School

Careful Nursing Summer School

July 25th – 27th 2017
The Summer School will focus on the (opens in a new window)Careful Nursing Philosophy and Professional Practice Model© (Careful Nursing) as it is currently developed and used to guide practice.

The philosophy and the four professional practice model dimensions will be addressed with particular attention to the models’ two central practice dimensions; Therapeutic Milieu and Practice Competence and Excellence.

Use of Careful Nursing in both hospital and community practice will be explored. Discussion will include how Careful Nursing is used in particular professional roles. The model’s structure and documentation will highlight the use of the NANDA-I diagnoses, Nursing Outcomes Classification and Nursing Interventions Classification.   The research base for Careful Nursing will be examined, on-going research presented and future research needs identified.

Discussion and exploration will take place through plenary sessions and workshops which will take place in the UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems located on the lovely leafy campus of Belfield, just three miles from Dublin City Centre.

We are very pleased to announce that our Summer School is timed to co-ordinate with the Sigma Theta Tau 28th International Nursing  Research Congress at the Dublin Convention Centre, in the City Centre. Our final day will be completed in time to enable participants to attend the opening of the Congress.
