Microanalytical Laboratory
The microanalytical laboratory provides a support service to the School of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, and other schools in the university. It also undertakes work from other academic institutions and commercial clients both in Ireland and abroad.
The range of elements analysed is carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, halogens, sulphur, phosphorous and some metals.
Instrumentation
The laboratory is equipped with an Exeter Analytical CE 440 elemental analyser, a Varian 55B SpectraAA atomic absorption spectrometer and various Metrohm titrators and two micro balances.
