Biography:
Diplom in chemistry at Marburg University, Germany (1983), Ph.D. with Prof. W. Heitz at Marburg (1985), post-Doc at Du Pont, USA, with Dr. Dotsevi Sogah (1985/86), post-doc with Prof. Robert H. Grubbs at Caltech, USA (1986/88), Habilitation at Marburg University in 1992, joined UCD in 1991, senior lecturer since January 2005 |
Research Interests
| Polymer synthesis, transition metal catalysis, olefin metathesis polymerisation (ROMP), migratory insertion polymerisation (Ziegler-Natta catalysis including late transition metal catalysis), "living" polymerisations, polymerisation of cyclic olefins, control of stereochemistry, analysis of polymer microstructure and thermal properties, partially fluorinated polymers, step polymerisation methodologies. |
