Our Research

UCD Centre for the History of Medicine in Ireland based in the UCD School of History, is an interdiscilinary research centre dedicated to the study of the medical humanities and relates to the College of Arts and Humanities embedded theme of Culture, Society and Change. Current research expertise and projects focus on psychiatry and mental health, medical professions and practices, public health and disease, maternal and child welfare and sexual health. Members work in collaboration with staff in a number of Schools within university and beyond. Research projects and other activities are supported by a range of funding bodies, notably the Wellcome Trust, Irish Research Council and the EU.
