Biography:
I have been in the School (formerly Department) of Classics at UCD since 1985, as Assistant Lecturer, College Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and (since 2007) Associate Professor. Before coming to UCD, I taught at Oxford for several years and then spent a year as Lecturer in Greek at The Queen's University of Belfast (1984-5). I was head of the School of Classics (2005-8), and chair of the RIA National Committee for Greek and Latin Studies (2005-9).
