UCD School of Music
Music at UCD covers three main areas of study: musicology, ethnomusicology and performance studies, encompassing cultural, historical and anthropological aspects of music and performance. The School continues to build on their leading role in musical education, musical scholarship and the musical life of Ireland since 1914. UCD Music graduates hold key roles in all aspects of musical life in Ireland and beyond these shores, occupying leading roles in institutions like the Abbey Theatre, the Army School of Music, the Department of Education, RTÉ, the BBC, universities in Ireland, the UK, and beyond, in addition to numerous schools, choirs and musical societies.
The School values ambition, dedication, and passion for music in all its forms: critical reflection on music, performance to the highest professional standards, and engagement with composition through analysis, reflection and the creative process.
