UCD School of Veterinary Medicine

UCD School of Veterinary Medicine is the only centre for veterinary medical education on the island of Ireland. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a referral and teaching hospital which treats a range of pet and exotic species, farm animals and horses. The school holds triple accreditation for its programmes from the Veterinary Council of Ireland, the European Association of Establishments in Veterinary Education and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). The school is proud to be one of only six European veterinary schools currently accredited by the AVMA, which is recognised globally as the gold standard in veterinary education.

The school’s research focus is on advancing animal health, welfare and human health through the One Health Initiative, a global movement to promote collaboration and convergence in health research and healthcare delivery, involving medicine, veterinary medicine and related scientific disciplines.
