ConForest Final Meeting and International Conference

University College Dublin will host an international conference on Continuous Cover Forestry to coincide with the final meeting of the EFI PC “ConForest” 2009. The theme of the conference is:

Continuous Cover Forestry: Conversion Processes from a European Perspective.
“A knowledge transfer of the experiences gained though the application of conversion principles in European forests”

In parts of Europe, continuous cover forestry systems are being used to deliver ecological, social and economic benefits to forest owners. In other parts, stands of non-site adapted conifer species managed typically under the clearfell system are in the process of being converted to continuous cover forests. This conference will provide an overview of the current status of CCF in Europe and outline the latest research efforts being undertaken in area of conversion.

The conference will take place in FS01, in the Agriculture and Food Centre, in the Belfield Campus of University College Dublin.
