UCD Conway Institute

Description

As part of its programme to provide postdoctoral research opportunities for scholars of proven academic excellence, University College Dublin invites applications for the following Newman Fellowship in Nephrology. The Fellowship is established with the generous support of Baxter Healthcare Limited.

Project title:  A Systems Biology Approach to the Identification of Kidney Carcinogens.
This project will build on the successful outcome of the EU CarcinoGenomics project to predict carcinogens. A novel human renal epithelial cell system will be used to predict carcinogens using high throughput cell biology (HCA). The work will involve mining of the genomic data generated in CarcinoGenomics plus generation of new data using cell biology, high content analysis and genomics/systems biology. The work will include collaboration with the Max Planck institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin. A complete project description is available from Professor Ryan or Dr. McMorrow.
