Core Technology Summer School 2014
Contemporary Biological Imaging

Course Overview

The major goal is to promote high standards in imaging practice and support innovations in technology and applications. This module is designed for scientists who wish to critically understand the principles, practice, applications and trends of biological imaging and image analysis.

Many innovative manufacturing companies and suppliers will be involved in the course and they will provide precise, current information of the new instruments and consumables available.

This international course will be a 5 day programme comprising seminars and practical sessions using several instruments and remote sites. The practical portion will reinforce the concepts of the morning lectures.

We encourage participants to bring their own samples to analyse during the practical sessions. One-to-one consultations with leading scientists and technologists will be available. Facilities including accommodation will be available in the university campus, in order to minimise costs to participants.

Who should attend?

The target audience are scientists and graduates requiring imaging strategies in their research and/or help in the experimental planning.

What will I learn from this course?

Learning contemporary applications in imaging and getting advice from leading scientists and technologists will ensure that your imaging experiments will yield the most appropriate results.
