Helping Japanese scientists in quake aftermath
Professor Suzi Jarvis is offering Japanese scientists with overlapping research interests, who are affected by the earthquake, the opportunity to spend some emergency sabbatical time in her Nanoscale Function Group in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake.
She is calling on colleagues within the Irish research community to do the same saying, "Whilst it is difficult to provide salaries at short notice, it is possible for us to provide research facilities, local support and in some cases accommodation".
If you are colleague here in UCD or the wider Irish scientific community willing to host a scientist from Japan, please contact: suzi.jarvis@ucd.ie
For more information, see the Nanoscale Function Group website and a recent Nature blog.
