Ultrasound
The Vevo® 770 system is an ultrasound biomicroscope. It enables the visualisation and quantification of small animal anatomical targets, hemodynamics and therapeutic interventions with resolution as low as 30 microns using ultrasound. This non-invasive technique facilitates longitudinal monitoring and quantification of phenotypes as well as therapeutic regime monitoring in the same animal over time.

- B-Mode for visualisation and quantification of anatomical structures; visualisation of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

- Anatomical M-Mode for adjustable anatomical orientation in M-Mode imaging
- Power Doppler for blood flow quantification & anatomical identification
- 3D imaging & volume analysis
- Contrast imaging for perfusion and molecular endothelial cell surface marker analysis
- Advanced measurements & quantification
Image analysis
Image analysis can be performed during the ultrasound examination or offline. Images and cine loops are stored during the ultrasound examination. A licence is required for offline analysis on a separate computer.
Training
Training is required for the use of this equipment and excellent training courses are available from Visualsonics Europe or Canada. It usually takes a number of training sessions for an operator to become proficient at the use of the ultrasound biomicroscope. The ultrasound probes require particular care and attention during and after usage as they are expensive to replace.
