Immunohistochemistry

Immunohistochemistry uses specific antibodies to localise antigen expression on thin tissue sections.

Instrumentation

We use the Dako Autostainer Link 48 for automated tissue immunohistochemistry. The system is open for use with both diagnostic and research antibodies. Robust reproducible standardised conditions for antigen retrieval and staining (including double staining of two antigenic targets on a single slide). The automated technique is superior to manual staining with regard to specificity, stringency and signal amplification.

Expertise

We advise and assist on your research project in terms of optimisation of antibody staining protocols and provision of appropriate control tissues and isotype testing. We conduct the final staining protocols on your behalf.
With the expert input of UCD histopathologists, researchers can be assisted in the generation of detailed analyses of antigen distribution and advised on optimal approaches using the digital pathology platform.
