  • Dr Michel R. Popoff, Pasteur Institute, Paris
"Large clostridial toxins, insights into the mode of action"

Dr Popoff's research includes the elucidation of the mechanism of action of bacterial toxins, including the induction of rapid changes of epithelial cell membrane permeability, the ability of some toxins to cause apoptosis in epithelial cells by disruption of mitochondrial homeostasis, the repression of glucocorticoid receptor activity, their effects on the p38 MAPK pathway, and their ability to modify the actin cytoskeleton.

All are welcome!
