The MSc in Sport and Exercise Management (Sports Management, Golf Managment or Exercise Managment specialistion) provides a professional preparation programme producing effective and efficient sport and exercise managers to service the middle and senior management levels of sport agencies in the public, voluntary and commercial/corporate sectors as well as in the health, fitness and physical activity sector of the industry in Ireland and overseas. Students undertake a programme comprising base disciplinary knowledge contained within the core Sport and Exercise Management Modules. These are complemented by a range of electives in sport management and public health modules commensurate with the needs of the student and their career aspirations.This programme may be taken on a one-year full time or two-year part time basis and will normally be open to graduates who have completed and achieved a high standard in their primary degree.

MSc Sport and Exercise Management: Rugby Management programme
This new MSc Sport and Exercise Management: Rugby Management programme which is supported by the IRFU, IRB, Leinster Rugby, IRUPA and selected
English Premier League clubs, targets current professional players seeking to upgrade existing qualifications, players planning retirement at the end of this season who wish to remain in rugby in a management capacity, and those rugby club management personnel wishing to enhance their management skill-set. In addition, community rugby club management relies upon a vast range of personnel both volunteers and professionals who may wish to take advantage of one or more modules focussed on their specific role within the club.
The programme may be taken either fulltime (11 months), part-time (22 months) or on an occasional basis (an indefinite period; continual professional development CPD). Whichever method students select involves them undertaking one module at a time which is offered on an intensive one week basis (5 days, 9-4, a 35hr wk).Click to view the brochure in pdf.

Applicants for the Research MSc and PhD (Sport & Exercise Management) will undertake a research project in a relevant area of specialisation such as Sport Management, Sport Marketing and Sponsorship, Sport Event Management, Sport Strategic and Operational Management, Sport Tourism, Sport Coaching, Sport Sociology and History of Sport. The MSc and PhD programmes may be taken on a one-year, full-time basis or a two-year, part-time basis and will normally be open to graduates who have completed and achieved a high standard in their primary degree.
