Undergraduate programmes

BSc Sport and Exercise Management  CAO Code DN430 focuses on the principles of development, management, organisation and administration of the sport and exercise industry at the local and international level. This programme includes a 10 week structured work placement within the sports industry. The BSc Sport & Exercise Management programme is delivered on a full time basis over 3 years and has streams in Sport Management, Exercise Management and Coaching Management.

BSc Health and Performance Science CAO Code DN425 focuses on the scientific principles underlying the promotion and enhancement of sport, physical health and exercise. The Health & Performance Science programme is delivered on a full time basis over 3 years.

Taught Graduate programmes

MSc in Sport Management is targeted at graduates aiming to develop a career in the Sport industry and also experienced professionals who wish to enhance their career opportunities within this field. The programme provides graduates with the theoretical knowledge and practical tools and techniques required to solve real life management challenges within the Sport industry.This MSc programme is targeted at graduates aiming to develop a career in the Sport industry and also experienced professionals who wish to enhance their career opportunities within this field. The programme provides graduates with the theoretical knowledge and practical tools and techniques required to solve real life management challenges within the Sport industry.

 

MSc Coaching Science in Sport is intended for sports coaches, coach developers/educators and those working in closely related fields, to extend their scientific knowledge and understanding of the coaching process. This programme may be taken on a one-year full time or two-year part time basis and will normally be open to graduates who have completed and achieved a high standard in their primary degree.


 


Postgraduate Research programmes

Research MSc and PhD (Sport Management) applicants will undertake a research project in a relevant area of specialisation such as Sport Management, Sport Marketing and Sponsorship, Sport Event Management, Sport Strategic and Operational Management, Sport Tourism, Sport Coaching, Sport Sociology and History of Sport. The MSc and PhD programmes will normally be open to graduates who have completed and achieved a high standard in their primary degree.

Research MSc and PhD (Health and Performance Science) applicants will undertake a research project in a relevant area of socialisation such as Exercise Physiology, Coaching Science, Sports Nutrition and Biomechanics. The MSc and PhD programmes wil normally be open to graduates who have completed and achieved a high standard in their primary degree.
