MSc in Sport and Exercise Management (Streams in Sports Management, Golf Management, Exercise Management) 

The MSc in Sport and Exercise Management (Sports Management, Golf Management or Exercise Management specialisation) provides a professional preparation programme producing effective and efficient sport and exercise managers to service the middle and senior management levels of sport agencies in the public, voluntary and commercial/corporate sectors as well as in the health, fitness and physical activity sector of the industry in Ireland and overseas. Students undertake a programme comprising base disciplinary knowledge contained within the core Sport and Exercise Management Modules. These are complemented by a range of electives in sport management and public health modules commensurate with the needs of the student and their career aspirations.

This programme may be taken on a one-year full time or two-year part time basis and will normally be open to graduates who have completed and achieved a high standard in their primary degree.

 


MSc Sport and Exercise Management (Rugby Management)

This MSc Sport and Exercise Management (Rugby Management) programme which is supported by the IRFU, IRB, Leinster Rugby, IRUPA and selected English Premier League clubs, targets current professional players seeking to upgrade existing qualifications, players planning retirement at the end of this season who wish to remain in rugby in a management capacity, and those rugby club management personnel wishing to enhance their management skill-set. In addition, community rugby club management relies upon a vast range of personnel both volunteers and professionals who may wish to take advantage of one or more modules focussed on their specific role within the club.

 

Research MSc and PhD  (Sport & Exercise Management)

Applicants for the Research MSc and PhD (Sport & Exercise Management) will undertake a research project in a relevant area of specialisation such as Sport Management, Sport Marketing and Sponsorship, Sport Event Management, Sport Strategic and Operational Management, Sport Tourism, Sport Coaching, Sport Sociology and History of Sport. The MSc and PhD programmes  may be taken on a one-year, full-time basis or a two-year, part-time basis and will normally be open to graduates who have completed and achieved a high standard in their primary degree.

 

BSc Sport and Exercise Management (Streams in Sport Management, Exercise Management and Coaching Management) CAO Code DN430

This course recognises the increasing significance of Sport at local, regional, national and international levels. The BSc Sport & Exercise Management programme is delivered on a full time basis over 3 years.

 

 

BSc Health and Performance Science CAO Code DN425

Health & Performance Science focuses on the scientific principles underlying the promotion and enhancement of sport, physical health and exercise. The Health & Performance Science programme is delivered on a full time basis over 3 years.

 

Diploma in Sports Management (Non-CAO)

The Diploma in Sports Management is a two-year programme covering the principles of organisation, management and administration in the sports industry. The course aims to expand the knowledge and business skills of those employed in the sports industry and to provide high calibre sports people with the basic skills for a sports related career.
