Interdisciplinary Fluency Workshop 2017

The UCD Institute for Discovery is delighted to host an inaugural Interdisciplinary Fluency Workshop 2017 at University College Dublin.

Keynote Talk:

"Valuing & Evaluating Interdisciplinary Research"

The workshop will include parallel sessions on the following themes:

  • Migration
  • AI & The Future
  • Data & Ethics
  • Trust

Thematic Networking Sessions

The parallel sessions within the workshop will explore the scope of existing research in the university in key theme areas. Facilitated by leading academic colleagues, they will provide a forum for researchers to discuss their activity in the area and future pathways of interest. Researchers will be encouraged to give a brief description of their research interests in a given theme and to draw attention to areas where an interdisciplinary approach might be useful. The aim of the session is to begin a dialogue between researchers of different disciplines around common research interests or questions. It is hoped that these sessions will provoke ongoing discussions between researchers and lay the foundation for fruitful collaboration.
