Washington Ireland Programme 2012
Rebecca Dwyer Stage 2 Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering Student has been selected along with two other UCD students, from more than 400 applicants to join the Washington Ireland Program (WIP) 2012. Each year, the successful candidates, who have shown a commitment to service and a track record of leadership, take part in an eight-week internship program in Washington DC.
NOVA Award 2011
Dublin, Ireland 18, November 2011, APC Ltd, a new pharmaceutical research and technologies company, has won the NovaUCD 2011 Start-Up Award after being declared overall winner of the 16th NovaUCD Campus Company Development Programme. The company, co-founded earlier this year by Professor Brian Glennon and Dr Mark Barrett as a spin-out from UCD’s School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering, already includes many of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world on its client list.
Eoin Casey
Dr Eoin Casey (UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering) has been awarded a Starting Grant of €1.5m from the European Research Council (ERC), funded under the EU Framework Programme 7, to undertake groundbreaking research into emerging technologies for improving drinking water quality.

Paul Nagle BE (Chemical, Class of 2005), process and flow assurance engineer, Shell, Ireland is shortlisted for the prestigious IChemE Young Chemical Engineer of the year Award sponsored by GSK
Donal Finegan - Pat McAdam Award 2011
Congratulations to Donal Finegan a stage 2 student in the Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering Programme. Donal is the 2011 recipient of the Pat McAdam Scholarship. The award was presented, in absentia, at the annual Engineering Graduates Association Gold Medal presentation, August 29 , 2011.
