Postgraduate Programmes

Brief Description of the School

The UCD School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering is one of seven Schools within the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences. The School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering offers both undergraduate courses and postgraduate research programmes in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering. At the undergraduate level it is responsible for the BE (Honours) Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering Programme and at the postgraduate level for studies leading to a MEngSc and PhD degree by research. The School also offers two taught post graduate degree programmes, one in Biopharmaceutical Engineering and commencing in 2011 a new one year full-time MEngSc in Chemical Engineering. At present the annual undergraduate intake to the Chemical Engineering Degree Programme consists of some 40 undergraduate students and there are some 25-30 full-time research students.

PhD and Research MEngSc

Basic and applied research are important activities in the School and the major areas of interest include; general Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering themes.

Prior to submitting an application, you must contact the relevant member of the School to discuss potential topics and projects, starting dates, studentship etc. To identify a prospective supervisor, consult the Staff entry in the main menu.
