Donal Finegan is the third recipient of the Pat McAdam Award.

Congratulations to Donal Finegan a stage 2 student in the Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering Programme. Donal is the 2011 recipient of the Pat McAdam Scholarship. The award was presented, in absentia, at the annual Engineering Graduates Association Gold Medal presentation, August 29, 2011.

Under the auspices of the Pat McAdam Award, Donal spent the Summer of 2011 at the Colorado School of Mines, working on the development of renewable energy materials. During his time at the Colorado School of Mines he prepared a short presentation about his summer project work which can be viewed here. Donal has chosen to spend the 2011-12 academic year at the University of California Santa Barbara, studying in the UCSB Department of Chemical Engineering. He's already secured an industrial internship with Merck (MSD) for Summer 2012. Donal will return to UCD in September 2012 for the final year of his Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering degree studies.
