The School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering has recently established the Masters of Engineering Science in Chemical Engineering which should have broad appeal and is primarily based on the feedback from international markets, especially China.

The course consists of 90 credits in advanced core topics in Chemical Engineering and selected option modules in energy systems and biopharmaceutical engineering. The content includes 9 taught modules at 5 credits each, 15 credits of design, plus 30 credits (3 months) of research project work.

On completion of this programme students should be able to analyse a variety of chemical engineering processes and demonstrate an appreciation of the specification, selection and design techniques for chemical engineering systems including a high level of understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of industrial processes.

Skills appropriate for both advanced level entry into the industrial sector or progression to 4th level postgraduate PhD studies should have been acquired from taught materials, project work and independent learning..
