Biography:

Born in Athlone, Co Westmeath and spent formative years in Athlone, the Curragh Camp, Co Kildare and Dublin City. Attended St Paul's College, Raheny, Dublin 5. Studied Chemical Engineering at UCD from 1968-72. Graduated with ist Class Honours degree in 1972 and worked for his PhD at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY from 1972 to 1976. Spent 4 years at the IIRS (now Enterprise Ireland) and joined the Department of Chemical Engineering, UCD in 1980 as College Lecturer. Promoted to senior lecturer in 1993. Is a Fellow of both the IEI and the IChemE.

Transport Processes In External Loop Airlift Reactors. The Effects of Processing Conditions upon Suspended Cells. Waste And Hazardous Waste Management, treatment and disposal. Applied Digital Image Analysis. Applied Numerical Methods.
