Teaching Awards for College Academic Staff

UCD staff and students were invited to make nominations for the College Teaching & Learning awards and nominees were subsequently invited to make an application for an award.

Under the category of teaching excellence awards Tom Curran From the School of Biosystems and food engineering and Vincent Hargarden, from the School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering, were awarded a College Level Award and recommended for University level application

Arturo Gonzalez from the School of Civil Engineering was also awarded a College Level Award.

For the Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning Awards Barry Brophy from the School of Mechanical & Materials Engineering & Enda Cummins from the School of Biosystems and Food engineering received College Level Awards, as well as recommendations, for University Level Applications.

Aoife Gowen from the School of Biosystems and Food engineering and Alice Clancy & Michael Heurich from the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning & Environmental Policy all received College Level Awards.

Also in the School of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning & Environmental Policy there was a group award for the Foundation Year Studio for First Year Architecture.  Team members were Merlo Kelly, Darragh Breathnach, Joseph Mackey, Ben Mullen, Sarah Cremin, Conal Ryan, Tom O’Brien, Aisling McCoy, Chris Boyle, Rae Moore, Mark Price & Paul Durkin and the module co-ordinator was Peter Cody.
