Rigorously trained, creative, engineers and architects are vital for achieving a knowledge-based, sustainable future. The UCD College of Engineering and Architecture is a key player in this future. The College includes six Schools: Architecture, Biosystems Engineering, Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering; Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering; Electrical, Electronic and Communications Engineering, Mechanical and Materials Engineering; comprising one of Ireland's largest groupings of research expertise with exciting new work across a wide range of topics. Details of recent research may be found on the individual School websites.

The College produces high-quality leading edge research in Engineering and Architecture with an international profile.

The College promotes interdisciplinary research and teaching both between Schools and Colleges in UCD, and with other institutions within Ireland and abroad.

The College carries out research, training and technology transfer in collaboration with Industry

Our programmes are constantly developing to reflect our changing environment; offering students and researchers diverse and exciting opportunities to fulfill their study and career ambitions.

The College of Engineering and Architecture offers prospective undergraduate students the following range of honours degree programmes, available as CAO options:

DN100 Architecture 

DN140 Structural Engineering with Architecture

DN150 Engineering

An extensive range of taught graduate programmes is also available, some of which are offered as progression options from the undergraduate degree programmes as well as to external applicants. For information please refer to Graduate Studies in Engineering and Architecture. There are circa 1900 students in the College (1400 undergraduates and 500 graduate students). In addition, there are approximately 240 staff in the College (99 academic, 22 administrative, 31 technical and 88 research funded staff) all of whom join me in welcoming you to the College of Engineering and Architecture.
