Dr Marcus Collier’s research interests focus on the complex and fascinating interface between social and ecological systems.
His research areas may be separated into three thematic areas.
1. Environmental resource management: This research focuses on complex ecological systems and landscape ecology, with particular interest in biodiversity impact, risk, environmental change and resilience.
2. Society and environment interactions: This research focuses on environmental policy, conflicts and implications as well as dissemination to the wider community in both technical and non-technical languages.
3. Environmental governance: Research in this area seeks to advance current theory and debates, exploring novel approaches to data gathering and analysis, and further advance interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity.
