Sarah Gallagher, recent PhD student of Prof Frederic Dias, featured in Wednesday, 29 October, episode of TV3's 'Our island' series. Presented by Irish environmentalist, writer and broadcaster, Dick Warner, this new four-part series delivers an insight into the people, places and beautiful surroundings of Our Island. In this, the fourth episode in the series, Dick Warner discovers the wave chasers, seaweed harvesters and whale cullers of the Connacht coast. Sarah explains how waves are formed and how the wind blowing across the oceans surface effects the waves that hit the Irish coast.

Sarah recently completed her PhD thesis under Earth Institute PI Prof Frederic Dias.
