Chloe Kinsella, an Earth and Natural Sciences Doctoral Studies Programme candidate, under Earth Institute member Dr Tasman Crowe, is taking part in this years 'I'm a Scientist get me out of here' a science communications initiative.
'I'm a Scientist' is a free online event where school students meet and interact with scientists. It’s an X Factor-style competition between scientists, where the students are the judges. Students challenge the scientists over fast-paced online live chats. They ask the scientists anything they want, and vote for their favourite scientist to win a prize of €500 to communicate their work with the public.
The event is SFI funded and coincides with National Science week, running this year from the 10 to 21 November.
