Dr Lilit Sahakyan, Deputy Director for Science and Dr Shushanik Asmaryan, Head of GIS and Remote Sensing Department presented of the Center for Ecological-Noosphere Studies gave a lunchtime seminar as part of the UCD Earth Institute seminar series on the 21 May in the O'Brien Centre for Science.
As part of the FP7 funded EcoArm2ERA project Dr Lilit Sahakyan and Dr Shushanik Asmaryan are visiting UCD for a week this May to work with members' of the UCD School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Policy based in the UCD Earth Institute.
The Center for Ecological-Noosphere Studies (CENS) of National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, is a state non-profit organization founded in 1989 as a principal research organisation engaged in fundamental and applied studies in the area of ecology and environmental protection in Armenia.
EcoArm2ERA is a European funded project, that brings together top-level partners from both European Research Area and Armenia; created with the mission to integrate Armenian research capabilities in the field of environment and sustainable development. CENS is the main beneficiary of the project and directly supported through its European twinning partners: UCD School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Policy and Institute of Environmental Sciences, University of Geneva.
