Aggie is one of this year's 38 Irish Fulbright Awardees. The award ceremony took place at Iveagh House on the 8th of June with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Charles Flanagan, TD and the Chargé d’affaires of the US Embassy Reece Smyth, present. Aggie's scholarship is sponsored by the Geological Survey of Ireland.   ‌

Aggie will be visiting the US Geological Survey in Woods Hole, Massachussetts for five months in 2018 to investigate in detail the structures, morphology and lithologies of submarine landslide scarps in order to understand better the initial rupture process that takes place during submarine landsliding. She will use video footage obtained by remotely operated vehicles and apply Structure-for-Motion techniques, which are traditionally used in terrestrial environments.
