Congratulations to Prof Cormac Ó Gráda (seen below with Prof Michael Bordo, the outgoing President) who has just taken office as the President of the US Economic History Association for 2017-18.
The association is the most important of its kind and Prof Ó Gráda is its first non-North American president.
He received the presidential gavel at the Economic History Association annual meeting in San Jose, California in mid-September.
Prof Ó Gráda will deliver a presidential address at the next meeting, which will be held in Montreal in September 2018.
