UCD Economics student wins Department of Finance Economic Policy Competition 2016
UCD undergraduate Rory Malone (seen below being congratulated by Prof Karl Whelan) has won the Department of Finance Economic Policy Competition for 2016. The competition now in its third year allows students to submit their policy propositions, through their respective third level institution, based on sound economic analysis. The winner of the competition is offered a summer internship in the Department of Finance. Rory’s essay “An Examination of the Role of Inflation in the Irish Economy” was untaken as part of the Advanced Economic Analysis module. Rory is a single honours Economics student and is looking forward to his summer at the Department of Finance. Rory’s classmate, Matthew Shannon was a runner-up in the competition for his essay entitled “Productivity and Economic Growth”.
