Primary School Pupils share their stories with Post-graduate students
Pupils from Virgin Mary NS, Ballymun visited the School of Education on Monday 23rd April. The visit was proposed by MEd student Edwina Mulcahy, who worked with the boys on a literacy project which culminated in the publication of their stories in a book. The pupils presented their work to post-graduate students completing the Module in Equalities, Social Justice and Children's Learning, which combines perspectives from Education, Children and Youth Studies and Equality Studies.
The boys spoke enthusiastically about their project - from conception to publication. Their book, Terrific Tales, includes stories in different genres written by children of all ages in their school. Asked what advice they would give to other children wishing to develop their writing skills, the boys said they should write about things they are interested in. Sound advice for all!
