UCD School of Education Associate Professor, Shane Bergin, Collaborates with Leading EU Researchers on the Bratislava Declaration for Young Researchers

A team of leading EU researchers, including Dr Shane Bergin of the School of Education, have curated a four-point plan, called the Bratislava Declaration on Young Researchers, aimed at changing how scientific research is conducted from the grassroots level.  Submitted to the ministers for science and research across the current 28 EU member states, the declaration focuses on how to enable great people and ideas, ensuring sustainable and transparent career trajectories, a safe research environment, and a good work-life balance. The plan also highlights where exactly many nations’ current research models make things much harder for young researchers to progress.  Further details on the declaration can be found here:
