Annual Doctoral Conference in Education
'People, Perspectives & Places'
University College Dublin -27th May 2017
Submission of abstracts for papers and posters for the Annual Doctoral Conference in Education is now open. Submissions are due 28/4/2017.
The objective of this annual conference is to provide opportunities for doctoral research students in the field of education to inspire new thinking among their peers, practice formal presentation skills, network with fellow doctoral researchers from other universities, and broaden interests and knowledge in the education field as a whole.
The day will consist mainly of short presentations by doctoral researchers. There will also be a poster session (with a poster gallery on display throughout the day), networking opportunities, and a PhD roundtable in the format of a researchmeet.
Researchmeet is modelled on the highly successful Teachmeet format, where teachers who are engaging in research will make nano-presentations on their topic. The Researchmeet will begin with a series of nano-presentations, whereby teachers will present on their research topic in no more than 7 minutes. After the presentations, presenters will be assigned an area of the room where they can discuss their research further with attendees.
All doctoral students in the field of education (PhD or EdD) at any university in Ireland at ANY stage in their research are encouraged to submit a paper, poster or both. If you do not have experience presenting your work at academic conferences THIS IS THE IDEAL PLACE TO START, as you will get positive and helpful feedback from an audience of your peers.
