Dympna is Senior Lecturer in the School of Education where she is Head of Research, Director of the Structured PhD programme and the newly established MSc/PhD in Children and Youth Studies. She is Director of the Social Science Research Centre (SSRC) in the College of Human Sciences. Her recent book 'Immigration and Schooling in the Republic of Ireland (2011) provides a comprehensive overview of theory, policy and practice in this area. Dympna is co-editor (with Wendy Luttrell, CUNY) of a forthcoming special issue on 'Children and 'value': education in neo-liberal times' to be published in the journal Children&Society (2013).
