Biography:
Elizabeth O'Gorman is seconded by the Department of Education and Science from Co. Wicklow VEC to co-ordinate the Graduate Diploma in Special Education Needs in UCD. She has taught and lectured in the areas of Professional Development and Special Education Needs for over twenty years. In addition to working in Ireland, she has worked in the UK and Hong Kong as both teacher and teacher educator. Previously she was a national co-ordinator of the Junior Certificate School Programme delivering in-service on a wide range of teaching and learning related issues. She is also a School Development Planning facilitator and has worked with schools on developing policies and planning for the future.
Her expertise in the field of teacher professional development for inclusion has been recognised internationally with invitations to contribute to symposia in Europe and Asia. She is an invited peer-reviewer for a number of international journals in the fields of inclusive and special education.
