Fellowships

The ENERGY21 Programme offers 21 prestigious two-year Fellowships across three Calls. All Fellowships are based in the UCD Energy Institute and include an outgoing phase to a research performing organisation in any country in the world.

The Fellowships are offered to Experienced Researchers in three Fellowship categories in a broad range of Energy Systems Integration research topics, including the following subtopics:

  • economics, finance, regulation and policy
  • modelling
  • consumer behaviour
  • resources
  • built environment
  • data, sensors and security
  • water-energy nexus
  • electricity
  • gas
  • optimisation
  • forecasting
  • distributed energy systems
  • energy systems technology

Please note that these topics were eligible in Call 1. The topics for Calls 2 and 3 will differ from those listed above. 

The Fellows will be selected through a transparent and independent peer review process and will have freedom to choose their research project, their UCD Principal Investigator (mentor) and their outgoing host organisation, which is relevant to their research and career development.
