This year UCD has taken the bold step to have one entry point for the majority of its engineering programmes. When you come to make your CAO application you will see only two CAO codes for UCD Engineering: DN077 Engineering and DN078 Structural Engineering with Architecture. This is a major change from recent years!
After successfully completing a common first year in engineering in UCD you will be given unrestricted choice to specialise in Biosystems, Chemical/Bioprocess, Civil, Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering at undergraduate level. This year’s changes do not stop there – to ensure an upward trajectory for your engineering education (and in conjunction with European and worldwide standards) we have introduced six new taught Masters programmes in the areas of Biomedical, Civil, Electronic and Computer, Energy Systems, Engineering with Business, and Mechanical Engineering degrees.
The Structural Engineering with Architecture Programme, given its sustained demand and robust five-year education model, will remain a direct entry route for those students who have a love of design, the built environment and a passion for architecture.
