MA Programmes
The School offers several MA degree programmes in specialised areas of literary and drama studies. The MA degree combines taught course units with supervised research, and takes one year of full-time study to complete. In 2007-08, the School offers the following MA programmes, more details on which can be found by clicking on the course titles:
Applicants for the MA are expected to hold a BA degree or equivalent, with a distinguished record of undergraduate achievement. You can apply in advance of completing your BA for admission the following September, but you must be able to complete your application by sending in the full transcript of your BA results by the end of July. If you have already completed your BA and wish to apply for the MA, you can apply at any time in the year prior to admission the following September, up to the advertised closing date.
Applications
Information about Online Applications:
Applications are assessed on a competitive basis, and in all of our MA courses there is usually a high number of applications for every place available. However, in some cases, it may be necessary for the School to withdraw MA courses when staff are not available, or when minimum numbers of places have not been filled. If this is the case applicants will be informed in writing as early as possible.
It should be noted that applications for the MA in Creative writing must be made online. Submission of references for this MA should be included in the online application. See the course description for more information.

Please Note: Applications received after the closing date may not be considered. Students can now apply for more than one MA programme but only their first choice will be considered in the first instance. If they fail to get accepted to their first choice, the application will be passed to their second. For English, Drama and Film, please list MA programmes on the on-line application form at www.ucd.ie/apply
