Drama Research Seminars and Events

Drama Studies Centre Research Seminars present a lively forum for debate on a wide range of issues pertaining to drama, theatre and performance. The seminars feature international scholars and practitioners and are open to all with an interest in the current state of research in the performing arts.

 

Sinead Cusack at UCD – October 2011

  • Sinead Cusack, multi-award winning actress, and Adjunct Professor in Drama Studies in the School of English, Drama and Film, was in conversation with Prof. Frank McGuinness at UCD on 21st October. Before a rapt audience, Prof. Cusack spoke revealingly about her acclaimed work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, her discipline as an actress, and her passionate commitment to her work. She expressed lucidly her love for the plays of Sean O’Casey, Sebastian Barry, Brian Friel and Anton Chekhov. Prof. Cusack is currently appearing as Juno in O’Casey’s Juno and the Paycock at the Abbey Theatre, in a joint production with the Royal National Theatre.
