Dr Fionnula Dillane has been awarded the 2013 Robert and Vineta Colby Scholarly Book Prize by The Research Society for Victorian Periodicals for Before George Eliot: Marian Evans and the Periodical Press (Cambridge UP, 2013). She is joint winner of the award.  The prize is awarded to the scholarly books that most advance the understanding of the nineteenth-century British newspaper or periodical press.
