Paul Perry awarded the Patrick and Katherine Kavanagh Fellowship in Poetry
Paul Perry, a member of the MA in Creative Writing teaching team at UCD since 2008, has been awarded the prestigious Patrick and Katherine Kavanagh Fellowship in Poetry. Valued at €8,000, this fellowship, as stipulated by Katherine Kavanagh, should be awarded to a poet "in that period of their creative life when they have established that they are capable of work of merit and before they are too old to reap the full benefit of such assistance."
Paul’s collections to date include The Drowning of the Saints (Salmon, 2003); The Orchid Keeper (Dedalus, 2006); The Last Falcon and Small Ordinance (Dedalus, 2010); and Gunpowder Valentine: New and Selected Poems (Dedalus, 2014). With co-author Karen Gilleece he published a novel, The Boy that Never Was (Penguin, 2014). Their new novel Only We Know is due for publication in June (Penguin 2015).
